More details on a few of the Lenox Gallery Artists who will be available:
Nationally known watercolorist, teacher and author Elizabeth Horowitz, signing her book "Watercolor for the First Time: A Beginner's Guide." In the book, she presents a step-by-step series of easy to follow lessons based on her ten year's experience teaching watercolor classes. Many posters and prints of Ms. Horowitz's fine watercolor landscapes and still lifes have been distributed nationally. Nationally recognized, Horowitz's original artwork is included in a variety of public and private collections.
Robert Watkins, a very accomplished oil painter, focuses on painterly landscapes in the European tradition and still life work reminescent of the Dutch masters. Watkins' work is collected throughout the United States.
Lydia Johnston is a Southern Vermont based artist who has been working in color and design for more than 20 years. Her impressionistic landscapes manage to capture the mood of the moment such as the swaying seed heads of ripening grasses, the sparkle of wildflowers in a meadow and the rippling reflections on water. She is interested in the experience of a fleeting moment rather than the actual details of a location. A sense of the place is created without providing all the details, drawing you continually back to find something new.
Jane Barrientos is a graduate of Paier College of Fine Art and has taught art for over 20 years in New England and across the United States. She is the author of the three book series The Art of Deception a step-by-step guide to Trompe L'Oeil decorative art painting techniques. Ms Barrientos conducts weekly classes in her West Springfield studio from September to May and teaches one-week summer workshops. The Lenox Gallery has found a broad audience for her wonderful still lifes over the past several years.
